EMR systems have to do two things: 1. Allow you to input all the information from the visit to meet billing requirements, and 2. Reformat that information for a letter to the referring doctor. Very few EMR's do both well. EClinicalWorks is the exception. We will customize your software to include as much or as little information from the progress note as you wish.

Use Dragon Medical with eClinicalWorks to produce progress notes and letters that are rich and "humanlike," not computer generated. Your referrings might not even know that the letter is coming from an EMR.

Electronic Prescribing

By now you've probably heard that starting January 1, 2009 Medicare will pay an additional 2% for practices using electronic prescribing. Additional payments, in varying amounts, will continue through 2013. Starting 2014 Medicare will reduce payments to physician practices if they are not using electronic prescribing.

eClinicalWorks supports electronic prescribing through SureScripts. Not only do you get more from Medicare, electronic prescribing will help you and your staff be more efficient. Every time a prescription is generated through eClinicalWorks it is automatically recorded in the patient's record and the prescription is sent directly to one of the 99% of all participating pharmacies in the nation.

The best part is this. Instead of patients calling your office for refills, they are directed to contact the pharmacy directly. The pharmacy, then, since you or your designee electronic message indicating that the patient has requested a refill. Simply click the message to authorize the refill, the patient's prescription is refilled and the record is updated in eClinicalWorks. All without your staff being bothered by a phone call.

Business Optimization

Business optimization, or eBO, from eClinicalWorks empowers your practice with Cognos. eBO gives you the power to design your own reports and dashboards. The reports are very nicely designed. But, more importantly, they give you easy access to the data that is contained in your system..

Billing

eClinicalWorks features an intuitive billing component that gets you paid fast. Create out of office encounters, generate claims, post patient and insurance payments, send patient statements. Also, take advantage of electronic remittance advice (ERA) and insurance eligibility verification.



Clearinghouses like Gateway EDI help organize the claim submission and payment posting processes. Gateway EDI's web-based tools help you manage your accounts receivable and get the most out of your eClinicalWorks software. Patient statements can be uploaded to Gateway EDI, printed and mailed to patients, freeing up your staff to do more important things.

Scheduling

Our intuitive scheduling interface is based on Microsoft Outlook. If you use Outlook, you'll know how to use eClinicalWorks.

Fax Server

The fax server is included with eClinicalWorks at no additional charge. Now, all of your faxes come directly into the system. Just view the document, attach it to a patient's chart, and send it to the doctor or another staff person for review. Each staff person who sees the document can make notes, keeping everything organized.

Document Management

Whether documents are received by fax, or whether they're scanned in, the document management system keeps everything organized. Orders for labs and diagnostic tests are attached to the documents and are accessible from the patient's chart.

Patient Portal

Patient Portal from eClinicalWorks allows you and your patients to interact on your terms. Patients can request refills, enter their demographic information, request appointments, and input their own health history questionnaire. This reduces interruptions for your office staff and improves efficiency in the office. Providers can send lab and diagnostic test results in a secure, HIPAA-compliant manner. Together, Patient Portal from eClinicalWorks improves patient communication and office efficiency.

eHealth Exchange

Great, so now you have a paperless office. Everything is working more efficiently in your office and there are no more lost paper charts. You can access all of your patient records from home while you're on call. But, while you and many of the other practices in your community all have eClinicalWorks (or, another EMR), everyone is relegated to the lowest common standard for exchanging information: paper faxes. What's the next step? eHealth Exchange from eClinicalWorks. eHx allows practices within the community to exchange patient information electronically. Instead of sending a facsimile of your progress note and other patient records to a specialist in the community, you send the entire record electronically. Then, the specialist can access it, import it directly into their eClinicalWorks system, saving time and money in data entry. The same data, including laboratory and diagnostic testing results, can be "reused." EHx also includes referral management tools. It's the next step after EMR, and it's available right now.
